Class Descriptions

Beginner Yoga - (60 min.) A class designed to introduce the student to the basics of yoga including proper alignment in asana (postures), breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques.  This class will provide students with the foundational knowledge to move on to Yoga I or Open Yoga classes.

Yoga I - (60 min.) A class for continuing beginners or anyone who wants to refine the basic components of asana (postures), including the sun salutation series.  The class focus is on basic postures, breath work, relaxation, and meditation.

Yoga II - (75 min.) A class for students with an ongoing practice who are ready to deepen their yoga experience.  This class can include advanced postures, vinyasa (sequenced flow), breath work, and meditation.  Appropriate for students with a good understanding of basic postures and the sun saluation series.

Yoga III - (105 min.) This 1 hour 45 minute class will combine asana, vinyasa, pranayama, relaxation and meditation practices.  Designed to develop deeper internal awareness, balanced energy, and greater physical and mental ease, this class is a true celebration of the practice of yoga.  For intermediate and advanced students.

Open Yoga - (60 min.) A class appropriate for continuing beginners through advanced students.  This class is taught in a manner that allows students of varying levels to work together.  Students are encouraged to work at their own pace and modify postures as necessary.  Note: lunch class is 45 minutes.

Gentle Yoga - (45 min.) Heal your body from the inside out with a safe, gentle practice designed for people recovering from injuries or illness, with special medical conditions, and with stress-related issues.  This class also adapts to meet the needs of beginners and those with physical limitations.  Emphasis is on breathing, yoga postures, balance, and relaxation.  Props such as chairs, bolsters, blocks, and straps are used where necessary.

Divine Yoga - (90 min.) A challenging Anusara®-inspired class that embraces Attitude, Alignment, and Action and blends awakening the heart with precise principles of alignment.  May include advanced postures, arm balances, and inversions.  Prior yoga experience is recommended, but not required.

Yogilates
- (60 min.) A strength-building class designed to strengthen, tone, and stretch the entire body.  The use of yoga, Pilates, balls, weights, and bands will sculpt muscle and increase flexibility.  This class is suitable for all levels.

Candlelight Yoga - (45 min.) A restorative yoga class open to all levels that provides a necessary part of a healthy yoga practice.  Supported poses using bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps soothe the nervous system and promote deep relaxation of body and mind.  Ideal for those in need of stress reduction, students new to yoga, anyone recovering from injury or illness, or those who have physical limitations.  Please arrive 10 minutes early to set up all necessary props.

Yoga Kids - (60 min.) A basic yoga class offered to kids ages 6-12, combining breath awareness, yoga postures, and inner stillness.  This class promotes strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.  This class can help kids develop self-esteem, creativity, emotional balance, and body awareness.

Prenatal Yoga - (75 min.) A special class designed to keep the mom-to-be healthy and fit and to prepare for birth and beyond.  A wonderful class for expectant moms that incorporates yoga postures, breathing, relaxation, and meditation.
